Cristiano Ronaldo picked up an undeserved red card on Sunday, but his reaction to the bad call is going to keep him out of action for a month. He’s been suspended five games — one for his red card and four more for shoving the official.
Real Madrid is appealing Ronaldo’s second yellow for a dive, and they have a case. However, that would only cause one game of his suspension to be lifted. Four games is the minimum suspension for contact with an official in Spain.
Ronaldo will miss Wednesday’s Supercopa de España second leg against Barcelona, then the next four La Liga games. Those matches are away to Deportivo La Coruña, at home against Valencia and Levante, then away to Real Sociedad. He’ll return to action in a home match against Real Betis.https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2017/8/14/16143326/cristiano-ronaldo-suspended-5-games-barcelona-vs-real-madrid
