DBKL Puts A Stop To Beer Fest

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) today rejected the application to hold a ‘Better Beer Festival 2017’ that is supposed to take place from Oct 6-7.

DBKL in a statement said they had received the organiser’s application to hold the event on Aug 28 at the Solaris Damansara complex from 2pm till 11pm.

“The application for the activity at the respective venue, time and date has not been approved and if the organiser proceeds, DBKL will take action under existing legal provisions,” it said.

Earlier, PAS who strongly opposed the event had also urged for the mufti institution to immediately issue a fatwa (edict) and specific view on the holding of such events, as a guide to the government for future action.
