PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has promised that Barisan Nasional (BN) will do a much better job if it is given the mandate once again.
“God willing, if BN wins (in the general election), we promise to do better in the next five years,” he said at a special announcement today.
“We will be undertaking bigger transformations that are inclusive and comprehensive for the people and nation.
“We will complete our tasks more effectively to boost the country’s dignity and ensure that Malaysia is one of the 20 best nations in the world, ahead of National Transformation 2050.
“As the head of the government, together with the country’s leaders, we will continue to develop this country; from Perlis to Sarawak and Sabah, so that no one will be left behind.
“Let us all continue with the success of the transformation with BN.
“Therefore, with great humility, I seek a new mandate for BN to lead Malaysia towards success.”
He said it was important to ensure that the nation’s transformation journey did not come to an end.
“The world has changed and we should not go backwards to dark and gloomy past.
“Together, we must continue with the nation’s inclusive transformation, towards a brighter future.
“We urge the people to look back at all the efforts made by the BN-led government, which has vast experience and a proven track record of more than six decades, especially the last nine years.”
Najib said BN leaders would go down to the ground to meet the people and explain BN’s manifesto.
“This is to ensure that BN will be given a strong and solid mandate by the people.”
Najib also expressed hopes that the general election would be held smootly and in an orderly manner.
