PORT DICKSON: A soldier was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today with the murder of his nine-year-old daughter last month.
Mohammad Abdullah Mohamed, 35, nodded after the charge was read out before Magistrate Siti Khariah Abdul Razak, but no plea was recorded.
He was charged with culpable homicide of Nur Aina Nabihah, with the offence allegedly committed at Taman Vista Jaya, Lukut, near here between 8.30 pm and 11.30 pm on Jan 31 this year.
He faced the death sentence, as provided under Section 302 of the Penal Code, if found guilty.
The court set March 15 for mention.
Deputy public prosecutor A. Ashwini prosecuted, while Mohamed Abdullah was unrepresented.
In the same court, another man, Abdul Malik Rosli, 19, was charged with the murder of a dental technologist, Mahussin Abdul Rahim, 28, at the Lukut Health Clinic Quarters at 1.40 am last Jan 19.
Abdul Malik, who was unrepresented, nodded after the charge was read out, but no plea was also recorded.
Siti Khariah fixed March 14 for mention.
