TOKYO: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad no longer thinks that Vision 2020 is achievable.
However, he said if Malaysians worked very hard with the right policies in place, it could be achieved by 2025.
Speaking at the 24th Nikkei Conference on the Future of Asia on Monday (June 11), Dr Mahathir said when he first stepped down in 2003, he has thought that Malaysia could achieve developed status by 2020.
“But the policies put into place were changed by succeeding Prime Ministers. So now, Vision 2020 may be delayed to 2025.”
